Tribute to FIP President Dominique Jordan
The European Association of Faculties of Pharmacy, an Observer Organisation Member and collaborator of the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP), pays tribute to FIP President Dominique Jordan who passed away last Saturday.
Dominique Jordan, a community pharmacist from Switzerland was elected president of FIP in 2018 and previously served as Chair of the Board of Pharmaceutical Practice. He brought to FIP his vision for the evolvement of pharmacy practice that provides a focus to patients following his contribution as president of the PharmaSuisse national pharmacy organisation in his home country.
Dominique had a dynamic passion towards the profession which he managed to transmit to colleagues and was a great mentor to many across the globe. He emanated his motto of ‘trust, solidarity and action’ across the profession, through regions and globally, to ensure effective and sustainable evolvement and application of pharmaceutical sciences and pharmacy practice to the benefit of patients and society.
EAFP recognises his FIP leadership which put the patient, science and education at the core of the profession and introduced the ‘One FIP’ vision with the emphasis of collaboration. This vision was particularly recognised by EAFP where pharmacy education was positioned centrally and collaboratively in the global pharmacy context.
On behalf of EAFP Executive Committee and members, EAFP would like to present deepest condolences to Dominique Jordan’s family and friends.
